First aid courses for business groups
First aid skills are useful both at work and in your free time. Up-to-date first aid skills provide readiness and encourage you to help in the event of an accident or illness.
First aid skills for work, home and hobbies
The Occupational Safety and Health Act obliges employers to maintain sufficient first aid preparedness in the workplace, which means that the workplace must have a sufficient number of personnel with first aid skills.
Occupational health services assess the necessary first aid preparedness of your company in connection with the workplace survey, and based on this, a plan is created for how first aid preparedness will be implemented in your workplace.
First aid courses equip personnel with the skills to provide emergency first aid. Employees with first aid skills are beneficial to the company. It has been found that first aid training increases awareness and occupational safety.
First aid trained personnel anticipate dangerous situations and prevent accidents at work, and act quickly and courageously in the event of an accident. Quick first aid can save lives and speed up recovery. The skills learned in a workplace first aid course are also useful for many employees in their free time, at home and in their hobbies.
How first aid courses are implemented
We organize basic first aid courses and emergency first aid courses, as well as first aid courses tailored to the individual needs of the company. The courses can also be conducted in English if necessary. The maximum number of participants for a course held as a face-to-face lesson is 15 people.
The first aid courses are in accordance with the Finnish Red Cross courses and the courses provide FRC course certificates. The course instructors are our professional occupational health nurses with First Aid and Health Education Trainer (ETK-kouluttaja) qualifications.
Registrations must be made no later than 1–2 weeks before the start of the course, depending on the course. Cancellations must be made no later than one week before the start of the course to ensiapukursit(at)finla.fi. We will invoice non-cancelled registrations.
An example of a first aid course we offer to a business group:
Emergency first aid (4h)
The course covers emergency first aid topics. The aim is to increase the courage to help in life-threatening situations. The Finnish Red Cross (FRC) Emergency First Aid Course 4h® certificate is valid for 3 years and can be used to extend the validity of the FRC First Aid Course EA 1® or EA 2® once for three years. It is well suited as a refresher course (for EA1 and emergency EA8h courses), but also as basic training in emergency first aid skills for someone who has no previous first aid training.
